New Mexico High School Volleyball - Hozho Academy edged by Zuni
September 4, 2025: Gallup, NM 87301 Zuni Thunderbirds (Zuni, NM) boosters left the game thrilled Thursday as they saw their volleyball squad nudge the host Hozho Academy Wolves (Gallup, NM), 3-2 in a non-league test.
With the win, Zuni improves its record to 3-0 on the season. The Thunderbirds travel to Ramah (Ramah, NM) to face the Mustangs in a non-league test on Saturday, September 6. The Mustangs go into the test with a record of 1-0. Ramah won 3-0 in their recent non-league test against Tse' Yi' Gai (Cuba, NM)
The Wolves now own a 0-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Cottonwood Classical Prep for a non-league test on Tuesday, September 9. Hozho Academy will face a Coyotes squad coming off a 3-2 non-league win over Ruidoso (Ruidoso, NM). The Coyotes record now stands at 3-3.
