Newton County Cougars (Decatur, MS) boosters left the game thrilled Thursday as they saw their volleyball squad achieve victory over the visiting Choctaw Central Warriors (Philadelphia, MS), 3-0 in a league test.

With the win, Newton County improves its record to 18-1 on the season. The Cougars host East Central (Moss Point, MS) to encounter the Hornets in a non-league test on Saturday, September 7. The Hornets go into the test with a record of 6-13. East Central lost 3-1 in their recent league test against Vancleave (Vancleave, MS)

The Warriors now own a 8-13 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Northeast Lauderdale for a Class 4A Region 4 test on Tuesday, September 10.
