In Friday's non-league game, the Sylmar Spartans (Sylmar, CA) football team triumphed over the host Chavez Eagles (San Fernando, CA), by a margin of 42-6.

In their next game, the Spartans face the Poly Parrots (Sun Valley, CA) in a non-league game, on Friday, September 12. Sylmar will attempt to move on its 1-1 season record. The Parrots come into the outing with a 0-2 record after their 48-8 non-league loss to San Fernando (San Fernando, CA).
