In Friday's league battle, the visiting Lakeland Thunderbirds football team scored a nice 43-32 win over the Rhinelander Hodags.

With the win, Lakeland improves its record to 3-0 on the season. The Thunderbirds host Mosinee (Mosinee, WI) to play the Indians in a Great Northern battle on Friday, September 12. The Indians go into the battle with a record of 2-1. Mosinee won 21-14 in their recent league battle against Merrill (Merrill, WI)

The Hodags now have a 1-2 record. They play next when they travel to Wausau East for a Great Northern battle on Friday, September 12. Rhinelander will play a Lumberjacks team coming off a 11-10 league loss to Tomahawk (Tomahawk, WI). The Lumberjacks record now stands at 1-2.
