The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Shelby County Wildcats (Columbiana, AL) and the visiting Sipsey Valley Bears (Buhl, AL), witnessed Shelby County's football squad topple Sipsey Valley by a count of 31-8.

The Wildcats (2-1) will now prepare for their contest against Jemison (Jemison, AL). The Panthers enter the 5A Region 3 contest with a 1-2 record. In their last battle, Jemison overcame Selma (Selma, AL), 34-28, in a league battle.

The Bears now own a 1-2 record. They play next when they travel to Aliceville for a non-league battle on Friday, September 12. Sipsey Valley will encounter a Yellowjackets team coming off a 20-13 league loss to Tuscaloosa Academy (Tuscaloosa, AL). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 1-1.
