Frederick Golden Eagles (Frederick, CO) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their softball squad nudge the host Berthoud Spartans (Berthoud, CO), 9-8 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Golden Eagles confront the Resurrection Christian Cougars (Loveland, CO) in a non-league battle, on Saturday, September 6. Frederick will attempt to better on its 6-3 season record. The Cougars come into the battle with a 4-3 record after their 17-5 league loss to Weld Central (Keenesburg, CO).

With the loss, Berthoud moves to 3-5 on the season. The Spartans host Niwot (Niwot, CO) to meet the Cougars in a non-league challenge on Saturday, September 6. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 2-3. Niwot lost 14-0 in their recent league challenge against Holy Family (Broomfield, CO)
