September 5, 2025: Amarillo, TX 79109 Fans at Friday's non-league contest between the Amarillo Sandies (Amarillo, TX) and the visiting Caprock Longhorns (Amarillo, TX), observed Amarillo's volleyball squad notch a victory over Caprock by a score of 3-0.
With the win, Amarillo improves its record to 17-8 on the season. The Sandies host Lubbock (Lubbock, TX) to meet the Westerners in a 5A Region I District 3 challenge on Tuesday, September 9. The Westerners enter the challenge with a record of 3-19. Lubbock lost 3-0 in their recent league challenge against Monterey (Lubbock, TX)
Next, the Longhorns meet the Lubbock-Cooper Pirates (Lubbock, TX) in a 5A Region I District 3 challenge, on Tuesday, September 9. Caprock will attempt to upgrade on its 6-11 season record. The Pirates enter the challenge with a 14-8 record after their 3-0 league win over Plainview (Plainview, TX).
