In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Eagle Pass Eagles football squad scored a close 26-24 triumph over the Taft Raiders.

The Eagles (2-0) will now prepare for their match against Canyon (New Braunfels, TX). The Cougars come into the non-league match with a 1-1 record.

Coming up next, the Raiders confront the Marshall Rams (San Antonio, TX) in a 6A Region IV District 28 match, on Friday, September 13. Taft will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Rams come into the match with a 1-1 record after their 40-0 non-league loss to Flour Bluff (Corpus Christi, TX).
