Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns (Hamshire, TX) backers were pleased Saturday as they witnessed their volleyball team tip the visiting Buna Cougars (Buna, TX), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Longhorns (5-17) will now prepare for their challenge against Splendora (Splendora, TX). The Wildcats come into the non-league challenge with a 4-12 record. In their last challenge, Splendora was nudged by Little Cypress-Mauriceville (Orange, TX), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Cougars play the Kirbyville Wildcats (Kirbyville, TX) in a 3A Region III District 22 game, on Tuesday, September 9. Buna will attempt to advance on its 12-15 season record. The Wildcats go into the game with a 15-8 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Hull-Daisetta (Daisetta, TX).
