The Shelby Golden Lions volleyball squad (Shelby, NC), was defeated 2-0 in Saturday's non-league battle with the host R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC)

With the win, R-S Central improves its record to 4-7 on the season. The Hilltoppers travel to Hibriten (Lenoir, NC) to encounter the Panthers in a Western Piedmont 3A/4A battle on Tuesday, September 9. The Panthers go into the battle with a record of 3-8. Hibriten lost 3-0 in their recent non-league battle against Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC)

The Golden Lions now own a 0-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Huss for a non-league battle on Monday, September 8. Shelby will encounter a Huskies squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to Forestview (Gastonia, NC). The Huskies record now stands at 0-5.
