Texas High School Football - Weslaco East can't get by Vela

Vela Sabercats (Edinburg, TX) fans left the game satisfied Thursday as they observed their football team nudge the visiting Weslaco East Wildcats (Weslaco, TX), 42-35 in a non-league test.

With the win, Vela improves its record to 3-0 on the season. The Sabercats travel to McAllen Memorial (McAllen, TX) to confront the Mustangs in a 5A-1 Region IV District 15 test on Friday, September 15. The Mustangs go into the test with a record of 2-0. McAllen Memorial won 38-35 in their recent non-league test against Mission Veterans Memorial (Mission, TX)

With the loss, Weslaco East moves to 1-2 on the season. The Wildcats travel to Edinburg (Edinburg, TX) to confront the Bobcats in a non-league test on Thursday, September 14. The Bobcats go into the test with a record of 0-3. Edinburg lost 40-7 in their recent non-league test against Weslaco (Weslaco, TX)
