Iowa High School Volleyball - Akron-Westfield edged by George-Little Rock
September 7, 2023: Akron, IA 51001 The George-Little Rock Mustangs held off the host Akron-Westfield Westerners volleyball team by a score of 3-2 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Mustangs now have a 2-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host West Sioux for a non-league test on Tuesday, September 12. George-Little Rock will confront a Falcons team coming off a 3-1 league loss to Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn (Hartley, IA). The Falcons record now stands at 1-8.
The Westerners (1-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Gehlen Catholic (Le Mars, IA). The Jays enter the War Eagle challenge with a 3-6 record. In their last challenge, Gehlen Catholic nipped South O'Brien (Paullina, IA), 3-1, in a league challenge.
