Wisconsin High School Football - Newman thwarted by Almond-Bancroft
September 7, 2024: Wausau, WI 54401 Almond-Bancroft Eagles (Almond, WI) fans went home in high spirits Saturday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the host Newman Fighting Cardinals (Wausau, WI), 18-6 in a league battle.
With the win, Almond-Bancroft improves its record to 2-0 on the season. The Eagles host Port Edwards (Port Edwards, WI) to play the Blackhawks in a Mideast (8 Man) battle on Friday, September 13. The Blackhawks go into the battle with a record of 2-0. Port Edwards won 53-8 in their recent league battle against Wild Rose (Wild Rose, WI)
The Fighting Cardinals now have a 1-1 record. They play next when they host Marion/Tigerton for a Mideast (8 Man) battle on Saturday, September 21. Newman will play a Mustangs team coming off a 26-25 non-league win over Three Lakes (Three Lakes, WI). The Mustangs record now stands at 1-0.
