September 8, 2023: Mitchell, SD 57301 The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Riggs Governors (Pierre, SD) and the host Mitchell Kernels (Mitchell, SD), observed Riggs's football squad bounce Mitchell by a count of 62-8.
The Governors now own a 3-0 record. They play next when they travel to Yankton for a Eastern South Dakota - AA contest on Friday, September 15. Riggs will play a Bucks/Gazelles squad coming off a 31-20 league win over Watertown (Watertown, SD). The Bucks/Gazelles record now stands at 3-0.
Coming up next, the Kernels play the Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles (Aberdeen, SD) in a Eastern South Dakota - AA contest, on Saturday, September 16. Mitchell will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record. The Golden Eagles go into the contest with a 1-2 record after their 24-14 non-league win over Sturgis Brown (Sturgis, SD).
