September 8, 2025: Stanardsville, VA 22973 William Monroe Dragons (Stanardsville, VA) boosters left the game satisfied Monday as they saw their volleyball squad edge the visiting Madison County Mountaineers (Madison, VA), 3-2 in a non-league test.
With the win, William Monroe improves its record to 5-0 on the season. The Dragons travel to Orange County (Orange, VA) to face the Fighting Hornets in a non-league test on Tuesday, September 9. The Fighting Hornets go into the test with a record of 0-2. Orange County lost 3-0 in their recent non-league test against Madison County (Madison, VA)
The Mountaineers now own a 4-2 record. They play next when they travel to Clarke County for a Bull Run challenge on Tuesday, September 9. Madison County will meet a Eagles team coming off a 3-1 non-league win over Skyline (Front Royal, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 3-3.
