With the win, Newton improves its record to 4-0 on the season. The Tigers host Lake (Lake, MS) to meet the Hornets in a Class 2A Region 5 challenge on Tuesday, September 9. The Hornets enter the challenge with a record of 12-4. Lake won 3-1 in their recent non-league challenge against St. Andrew's Episcopal (Ridgeland, MS)
