In Thursday's league battle, the visiting East Gaston Warriors volleyball team scored a 3-0 triumph over the Shelby Golden Lions.

The Warriors (6-2) will now prepare for their battle against Cherryville (Cherryville, NC). The Ironmen come into the Southern Piedmont 1A/2A battle with a 5-6 record. In their last battle, Cherryville lost by Highland Tech (Gastonia, NC), 3-0, in a league battle.
