The Hazleton Area Cougars football squad scored 54 points and restricted the visiting North Pocono Trojans to 7 in the Cougars non-league victory on Friday.

The Cougars now possess a 3-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Wilkes-Barre for a Wyoming Valley 6A/5A battle on Friday, September 16. Hazleton Area will play a squad coming off a 34-7 non-league win over Wallenpaupack Area (Hawley, PA). The record now stands at 2-1.

Coming up next, the Trojans play the Valley View Cougars (Archbald, PA) in a Lackawanna 1 battle, on Friday, September 16. North Pocono will attempt to advance on its 2-1 season record. The Cougars enter the battle with a 2-1 record after their 35-17 non-league win over Honesdale (Honesdale, PA).
