Fans at Tuesday's non-league contest between the Elk Grove Thundering Herd (Elk Grove, CA) and the visiting Kennedy Cougars (Sacramento, CA), observed Elk Grove's volleyball team hold off Kennedy by a count of 3-2.

The Thundering Herd (2-1) will now prepare for their battle against Pleasant Grove (Elk Grove, CA). The Eagles go into the Delta League battle with a 7-6 record. In their last battle, Pleasant Grove tipped Laguna Creek (Elk Grove, CA), 3-2, in a league battle.

The Cougars now own a 3-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Monterey Trail for a non-league battle on Tuesday, September 16. Kennedy will encounter a Mustangs squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to Franklin (Elk Grove, CA). The Mustangs record now stands at 6-5.
