Elk Grove Thundering Herd (Elk Grove, CA) boosters were pleased Tuesday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the host Monterey Trail Mustangs (Elk Grove, CA), 3-1 in a league challenge.

The Thundering Herd (8-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Franklin (Elk Grove, CA). The Wildcats come into the Delta League challenge with a 17-10 record. In their last challenge, Franklin beat Laguna Creek (Elk Grove, CA), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Mustangs meet the Sheldon Huskies (Sacramento, CA) in a Delta League challenge, on Thursday, October 23. Monterey Trail will attempt to advance on its 10-12 season record. The Huskies go into the test with a 2-13 record after their 3-0 league loss to Pleasant Grove (Elk Grove, CA).
