Fans at Tuesday's non-league contest between the Soldotna Stars (Soldotna, AK) and the visiting Homer Mariners (Homer, AK), observed Soldotna's volleyball team top Homer by a count of 3-1.

The Stars (9-3) will now prepare for their contest against Palmer (Palmer, AK). The Moose enter the 4A Northern Lights contest with a 11-8 record. In their last contest, Palmer achieved victory over Kenai Central (Kenai, AK), 2-0, in a non-league battle.

The Mariners now own a 8-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Nikiski for a 3A Southcentral battle on Friday, September 12. Homer will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to Homer (Homer, AK). The Bulldogs record now stands at 2-3.
