The Newaygo Lions volleyball team scored 3 points and restricted the host Tri County Area Vikings to 1 in the Lions league triumph on Tuesday.

The Lions now have a 7-5 record. They play next when they travel to Morley Stanwood for a Central State game on Saturday, September 13. Newaygo will face a Mohawks squad coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Montague (Montague, MI). The Mohawks record now stands at 12-9.

The Vikings (3-8) will now prepare for their game against Chippewa Hills (Remus, MI). The Warriors go into the Central State game with a 1-5 record. In their last game, Chippewa Hills went down by Grant (Grant, MI), 3-0, in a league game.
