Geneva Vikings (Geneva, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting Bartlett Hawks (Bartlett, IL), 4-3 in a league test.

With the win, Geneva upgrades its record to 7-1 on the year. The Vikings host East (Aurora, IL) to clash with the Tomcats in a Upstate Eight game on Thursday, April 12. The Tomcats go into the game with a record of 0-4.

The Hawks (5-5) will now prepare for their game against Streamwood (Streamwood, IL). The Sabres go into the Upstate Eight game with a 5-6 record. In their last game, Streamwood tipped Waubonsie Valley (Aurora, IL), 4-3, in a league game.

The Bartlett Hawks squandered three innings with runners on second and third with less than one out. The Hawks did come back to tie the game in the seventh inning on Dan Gallanis' 2rbi single. Geneva secured their 4-3 victory on two Bartlett errors in the bottom of the seventh.
