StrengthsLake View is looking to build on last year's 55 season, which ended with a devastating loss in the first round of the 2025 IHSA playoffs against Corliss.
The Challenges: This season will test Lake View's depth, as the roster currently stands at 28 players. Graduating 10 seniorsincluding three All-Conference running backsmeans the Wildcats will be in a rebuilding phase. The toughest departure is All-City Honorable Mention and All-Conference RB Tyrone Townes, who averaged an explosive 9.8 yards per carry and capped off his high school career scoring a touchdown in the Illinois Shrine All-Star game. The smaller roster size will force Lake View to play old-school, "Ironman" football, requiring several players to excel on both sides of the ball.
ReturningThe Upside: The good news is that the Wildcats are returning massive experience where it matters most: the trenches. The entire offensive line returns except for one graduated senior. Furthermore, the defense should be much improved due to being battle-tested; Lake View started four freshmen and three sophomores on defense last year, and six of those seven young playmakers are back with a full year of varsity experience under their belts.
Newcomers#44 Nelson Cosme (Sr.) | 6'2", 250 lbs (TE/DE/Deep Snapper): The top returning player for Lake View. An All-Conference talent, Cosme is a versatile weapon who will be moved around the field to create big plays when the Wildcats need them most.
