The crowd at Tuesday's non-league bout between the Gillespie Miners (Gillespie, IL) and the visiting Mt. Olive Wildcats (Mt. Olive, IL), saw Gillespie's volleyball squad beat Mt. Olive by a tally of 2-0.

With the win, Gillespie upgrades its record to 8-13 on the year. The Miners travel to Hillsboro (Hillsboro, IL) to play the Hiltoppers in a South Central bout on Thursday, October 10. The Hiltoppers go into the bout with a record of 13-8. Hillsboro lost 2-0 in their recent non-league bout against Lincolnwood (Raymond, IL)

The Wildcats now own a 3-16 record. They play next when they host Lincolnwood for a MSM bout on Tuesday, October 15.
