U.S. Club Lacrosse assessment: "Alex is a controlled defender, he doesn't go out and play his man all over the field but is patient and waits for them to come to him. Once they do engage, he is quick with his stick and very physical. He doesn't throw a ton of checks but the ones he does through are very accurate, and he does a very good job of keeping his man from getting to the danger areas."
