Landon Cassiday has been named player of the year. "Cassiday had the kind of season, and became the kind of player, that only comes along once in a lifetime. His command of the defensive unit was apparent from day 1 as he directed and called almost every position and put the success or failure of the defense squarely on his shoulders. His performance on the year showed that as he put up an unprecedented number of tackles (178). On the offensive side of the ball he turned himself into one of the most dependable linemen the team had, game after game. No challenge was too difficult and no situation too much for this seasoned veteran. Replacing Cassiday will not just be difficult for the Raiders, it will be a certain impossibility. This young man personified what it was to be a Raider and play with the Pride expected of one. "
