Floyd Central Highlanders (Floyds Knobs, IN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Salem Lions (Salem, IN), 15-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Highlanders now own a 9-3 record. They take the field next when they host Jennings County for a Hoosier Hills challenge on Tuesday, April 5. Floyd Central will face a Panthers squad coming off a 15-0 non-league win over Batesville (Batesville, IN). The Panthers record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Salem falls to 1-1 on the campaign. The Lions host Scottsburg (Scottsburg, IN) to face the Warriors in a Mid-Southern challenge on Thursday, April 7. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 2-3. Scottsburg won 9-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Providence (Clarksville, IN)
