Spectators at Saturday's non-league match between the Kouts Mustangs (Kouts, IN) and the visiting Whiting Oilers (Whiting, IN), witnessed Kouts's softball squad tip Whiting by a count of 3-2.

The Mustangs now sport a 7-9 record. They play next when they travel to Marquette Catholic for a non-league match on Monday, May 23. Kouts will face a Blazers squad coming off a 13-1 league loss to Hammond Bishop Noll (Hammond, IN). The Blazers record now stands at 16-9.

With the loss, Whiting moves to 14-10 on the season. The Oilers travel to River Forest (Hobart, IN) to face the Ingots in a non-league match on Monday, May 23. The Ingots go into the match with a record of 7-13. River Forest lost 8-1 in their recent non-league match against Hammond Gavit (Hammond, IN)
