Sterling Black Bears (Sterling, KS) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the visiting Lyons Lions (Lyons, KS), 55-51 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Sterling upgrades its record to 10-0 on the season. The Black Bears travel to Kingman (Kingman, KS) to encounter the Eagles in a Central Kansas bout on Tuesday, January 31. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 0-8. Kingman lost 67-61 in their recent league bout against Haven (Haven, KS)

Next up, the Lions encounter the Trinity Celtics (Hutchinson, KS) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Lyons will attempt to improve on its 0-9 season record. The Celtics come into the challenge with a 3-5 record after their 46-27 non-league loss to Beloit (Beloit, KS).
