Natalie Nitz has been named player of the year. "Although young, Natalie showed more heart and dedication than the most seasoned athlete this season. She has accepted her role as a vocal leader and is frequently helping her fellow teammates with skill work. She was willing to play any position, pitcher, 3rd and shortstop, and played it to the best of her ability. Her bat spoke for itself as she led the team in all batting stats. But, the most impressive statistics in her coach's eye were the six triples and two inside-the-park-homeruns. Not only can she hit with power, but she can scoot around the bases. All around, she is a solid athlete and teammate. "
