Joseph Stamper has been named player of the year. "Congrats to Joseph Stamper for "Player for the Year Honors" for 2013. It was a hard choice with so much talent on this years Morgan County Cougar Team. Honors are given to the ONE player that contributed most in the overall year. Joey didn't have the best batting average or lowest ERA, but Joey was a key part of the Cougars team in every game this season. Joey had the second best batting average of .376 behind Zach Bartley's .479. Joey had an average ERA of 2.31. Joey's stand-out stats are that he won 6 games pitching and lost (0) as well as had 1 save and although Joey had the second best batting average, he lead the team in singles (32), and came in second in most of all the other batting categories. His fielding percentage was a team best .984 among starters. Joey was involved in almost every play either catching or pitching and was the biggest consecutive contributor on both sides of the plate. He is well deserving of the title of "Player of the Year" for 2013... Congrats Joey!!!"
