The Highland Hawks basketball team scored 51 points and held the host Gilbert Tigers to 49 in the Hawks league triumph on Thursday.

The Hawks now sport a 16-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Queen Creek for a 6A Central challenge on Friday, January 26. Highland will play a Bulldogs squad coming off a 63-53 league loss to Desert Vista (Phoenix, AZ). The Bulldogs record now stands at 11-12.

Next up, the Tigers play the Desert Ridge Jaguars (Mesa, AZ) in a 6A Central challenge, on Friday, January 26. Gilbert will attempt to upgrade on its 12-10 season record. The Jaguars come into the challenge with a 7-14 record after their 68-66 league loss to Corona del Sol (Tempe, AZ).
