Arizona High School Basketball - Desert Sunrise routs Cortez

January 31, 2025: Phoenix, AZ 85051

In Friday's league contest, the visiting Desert Sunrise Golden Hawks basketball team scored a big 76-52 triumph over the Cortez Colts.

The Golden Hawks (9-14) will now prepare for their contest against Tempe (Tempe, AZ). The Buffaloes go into the 4A Black Canyon contest with a 3-15 record. In their last contest, Tempe was trounced by Coronado (Scottsdale, AZ), 49-24, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Colts battle the Flagstaff Eagles (Flagstaff, AZ) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, February 4. Cortez will attempt to better on its 4-11 season record. The Eagles go into the contest with a 19-6 record after their 55-37 league win over Bradshaw Mountain (Prescott Valley, AZ).
