The crowd at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Fairfax Stampede (Laveen, AZ) and the host Youngker Roughriders (Buckeye, AZ), observed Fairfax's basketball team overwhelm Youngker by a margin of 60-29.

The Stampede (9-8) will now prepare for their challenge against Alhambra (Phoenix, AZ). The Lions come into the 5A Metro challenge with a 3-14 record. In their last challenge, Alhambra was trounced by McClintock (Tempe, AZ), 82-18, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Roughriders battle the Buckeye Hawks (Buckeye, AZ) in a 5A Desert West challenge, on Friday, January 24. Youngker will attempt to better on its 12-9 season record. The Hawks come into the challenge with a 12-9 record after their 62-20 league win over Verrado (Buckeye, AZ).
