Chaparral Firebirds (Scottsdale, AZ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Desert Vista Thunder (Phoenix, AZ), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Firebirds now own a 8-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Estrella Foothills for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 14. Chaparral will battle a Wolves squad coming off a 3-1 non-league loss to Buckeye (Buckeye, AZ). The Wolves record now stands at 7-5.

With the loss, Desert Vista falls to 11-3 on the campaign. The Thunder travel to Mountain Ridge (Glendale, AZ) to battle the Mountain Lions in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 14. The Mountain Lions enter the challenge with a record of 6-5. Mountain Ridge lost 3-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Cibola (Yuma, AZ)
