The Calhoun County Saints basketball squad (St. Matthews, SC), was nudged 58-56 in Saturday's non-league battle with the visiting Lake Marion Gators (Santee, SC)

With the victory, Lake Marion advances its record to 8-4 on the year. The Gators travel to Barnwell (Barnwell, SC) to meet the Warhorses in a AA Region 5 battle on Tuesday, January 7. The Warhorses enter the battle with a record of 0-4. Barnwell lost 51-43 in their recent non-league battle against Silver Bluff (Aiken, SC)

The Saints now own a 3-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Hunter-Kinard-Tyler for a A Region 3 battle on Tuesday, January 7. Calhoun County will meet a Trojans squad coming off a 48-44 non-league loss to Edisto (Cordova, SC). The Trojans record now stands at 5-5.
