Currituck County Knights (Barco, NC) boosters left the game satisfied Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host Deep Creek Hornets (Chesapeake, VA), 66-59 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Currituck County upgrades its record to 10-3 on the year. The Knights travel to Northeastern (Elizabeth City, NC) to face the Eagles in a 2A/3A Northeastern Coastal match on Friday, January 17. The Eagles enter the match with a record of 7-1. Northeastern lost 54-52 in their recent league match against First Flight (Kill Devil Hills, NC)

The Hornets now sport a 3-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lakeland for a Southeastern match on Wednesday, January 15. Deep Creek will face a Cavaliers squad coming off a 69-56 non-league loss to Smithfield (Smithfield, VA). The Cavaliers record now stands at 3-5.
