The Mt. Pleasant Cardinals (San Jose, CA) basketball edged the visiting Gilroy Mustangs (Gilroy, CA), 55-49 in Friday's league bout.

The Cardinals now possess a 8-12 record. They play next when they travel to Evergreen Valley for a Blossom Valley - Santa Teresa East bout on Wednesday, February 12. Mt. Pleasant will play a Cougars team coming off a 59-45 league win over Ann Sobrato (Morgan Hill, CA). The Cougars record now stands at 17-4.
