Parker Messick has been named player of the year. "Parker Messick finished off his amazing high school career as a member of the 2019 FHSAA Class 8A State Championship team with a (30-2) record! This season he led the State of Florida for all pitchers with 125 strikeouts in 86 innings pitched including a 1.06 ERA in 14 starts with an (11-1) record including 8 complete games in a row and 7 shutouts on the mound! Messick also hit a .319 Avg. with 30 hits, including 9 doubles, one triple, and 2 home runs with 11 runs scored and 18 RBI's. Parker's biggest hit of the year came in the State semifinal game versus McArthur when he hit a solo home run to right field that landed outside of Hammond Stadium at over 420 feet!"
