September 29, 2006: Avella, PA 15312 The Avella Eagles football squad (Avella, PA), was overwhelmed 41-6 in Friday's league test with the visiting Fort Cherry Rangers (McDonald, PA)
With the triumph, Fort Cherry upgrades its record to 3-2 on the campaign. The Rangers travel to West Greene (Waynesburg, PA) to battle the Pioneers in a non-league test on Friday, October 6. The Pioneers go into the test with a record of 2-3. West Greene lost 36-0 in their recent league test against Mapletown (Greensboro, PA)
Next, the Eagles battle the Bentworth Bearcats (Bentleyville, PA) in a WPIAL A 2 game, on Friday, October 6. Avella will attempt to improve on its 1-4 season record. The Bearcats enter the game with a 2-3 record after their 42-7 league loss to Serra Catholic (McKeesport, PA).
