North Carolina High School Basketball - Statesville tops Foard
January 10, 2024: Statesville, NC 28677 Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Statesville Greyhounds (Statesville, NC) and the visiting Foard Tigers (Newton, NC), saw Statesville's basketball squad knock off Foard by a count of 72-52.
With the victory, Statesville upgrades its record to 6-6 on the campaign. The Greyhounds host West Iredell (Statesville, NC) to play the Warriors in a 3A Western Foothills challenge on Friday, January 12. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 2-9. West Iredell lost 77-53 in their recent league challenge against Foard (Newton, NC)
Next up, the Tigers play the East Lincoln Mustangs (Denver, NC) in a 3A Western Foothills challenge, on Friday, January 12. Foard will attempt to upgrade on its 4-9 season record. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a 6-6 record after their 77-52 league loss to Hickory (Hickory, NC).

This was a great team win for the hounds! 4 players had double-digit points in this great Conference win! Jay'Veon Lackey had a double-double, 16 points and 10 assists! Tatum almost had a double-double with 13 points and 9 rebounds! Caleb Tillman contributed with his 13 points and 3 offensive rebounds! Musa Kora, also, contributed, coming off the bench to drop 11 and have 6 rebounds, 5 being offensive rebounds!
