Orono Riots (Orono, ME) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Central Red Devils (East Corinth, ME), 14-9 in a league challenge.

The Riots now own a 2-2 record. They take the field next when they host Greater Houlton Christian Academy for a non-league challenge on Monday, May 1. Orono will face a squad coming off a 13-7 non-league win over Washington Academy (East Machias, ME). The record now stands at 2-0.

With the loss, Central falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Red devils travel to Bucksport (Bucksport, ME) to face the Golden Bucks in a Class C North challenge on Saturday, April 29. The Golden Bucks enter the challenge with a record of 4-0. Bucksport won 15-5 in their recent league challenge against Dexter (Dexter, ME)
