The Falcons now hold a 9-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Indian Valley for a Principals outing on Wednesday, April 25. Fairless will confront a Braves team coming off a 5-2 non-league loss to Canton Central Catholic (Canton, OH). The Braves record now stands at 9-7.
Next, the Quakers confront the Zanesville Blue Devils (Zanesville, OH) in a East Central Ohio - Scarlet outing, on Wednesday, April 25. New Philadelphia will attempt to advance on its 12-5 season record. The Blue Devils go into the outing with a 15-3 record after their 21-0 league win over Bishop Rosecrans (Zanesville, OH).
Game Summary
Fairless was able to get a come from behind win by scoring four runs in the bottom of the 7th to knock of New Philadelphia. The Quakers led for the majority of the game, while taking advantage of some mistakes by the Falcon defense, and they had leads of 3-0, and 7-3. But the Falcons never gave up, Mike Durben had a two run single in the bottom of the 2nd to tie it up at 3. But New Philly came back and took advantage of two Falcon errors and were able to push four runs across in the top of the 3rd. Jordan Knight's sacrifice fly in the fifth, cut the lead down to 7-4. Mike Durben led the 7th off with a single, and Joe Hammel got on with a HBP. Jordan Knight found the gap scoring the two runs to cut the lead to one. Pinch Running, Orey Schumacher was able to score on a wild pitch, and on back to back walks the Falcons loaded the bases with one out. Austin Matheson got hit on the second pitch to win the game. The win improves the Falcons record to 9-8 and they will travel to Indian Valley
