The Florence Falcons (Florence, AL) basketball felled the host DeSoto Central Jaguars (Southaven, MS), 75-64 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Falcons (12-7) will now prepare for their test against Bob Jones (Madison, AL). The Patriots go into the 7A Area 8 test with a 9-11 record. In their last bout, Bob Jones topped Mae Jemison (Huntsville, AL), 57-50, in a non-league bout.

Next up, the Jaguars play the Oxford Chargers (Oxford, MS) in a 7A Region 1 bout, on Tuesday, January 9. DeSoto Central will attempt to upgrade on its 8-10 season record. The Chargers go into the bout with a 12-8 record after their 86-56 league win over Hernando (Hernando, MS).
