Highlands Golden Rams (Natrona Heights, PA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host St. Joseph Spartans (Natrona Heights, PA), 57-48 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Highlands upgrades its record to 9-6 on the campaign. The Golden Rams host Freeport (Freeport, PA) to play the Yellowjackets in a WPIAL 4A 1 bout on Monday, January 30. The Yellowjackets come into the bout with a record of 7-12. Freeport lost 53-30 in their recent league bout against Knoch (Saxonburg, PA)

Next up, the Spartans play the Hillel Academy (Pittsburgh, PA) in a WPIAL 1A 3 bout, on Thursday, January 26. St. Joseph will attempt to upgrade on its 12-3 season record. The come into the bout with a 0-3 record after their 73-6 non-league loss to Propel Montour (McKees Rocks, PA).
