The Edcouch-Elsa Yellowjackets basketball team (Edcouch, TX), was overwhelmed 80-38 in Friday's league battle with the host Pace Vikings (Brownsville, TX)

The Vikings now possess a 28-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Porter for a 5A Region IV District 32 battle on Tuesday, February 1. Pace will battle a Cowboys team coming off a 45-28 league loss to Donna (Donna, TX). The Cowboys record now stands at 5-19.

The Yellowjackets (19-12) will now prepare for their contest against Lopez (Brownsville, TX). The Lobos enter the 5A Region IV District 32 contest with a 16-9 record. In their last contest, Lopez was routed by Pace (Brownsville, TX), 81-49, in a league contest.
