October 20, 2023: Lindside, WV 24951 In Friday's non-league game, the James Monroe Mavericks (Lindside, WV) football team smashed the visiting Liberty Raiders (Glen Daniel, WV), by a score of 35-0.
The Mavericks (6-1) will now prepare for their game against Nicholas County (Summersville, WV). The Grizzlies come into the non-league game with a 4-4 record. In their last game, Nicholas County was ripped by Independence (Coal City, WV), 46-0, in a league game.
The Raiders now sport a 1-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Shady Spring for a Coalfield AA game on Friday, October 27. Liberty will battle a Tigers team coming off a 33-18 league win over Ripley (Ripley, WV). The Tigers record now stands at 5-4.
