The Richwood Lumberjacks (Richwood, WV) basketball nipped the visiting Mount Hope Mustangs (Mount Hope, WV), 55-53 in Thursday's league test.

The Lumberjacks (1-6) will now prepare for their test against Nicholas County (Summersville, WV). The Grizzlies go into the non-league test with a 9-2 record. In their last test, Nicholas County got by East Fairmont (Fairmont, WV), 74-52, in a non-league test.

The Mustangs now own a 6-4 record. They take the field next when they host Midland Trail for a Coalfield A test on Friday, February 5. Mount Hope will clash with a Patriots squad coming off a 61-42 non-league win over Webster County (Upper Glade, WV). The Patriots record now stands at 9-3.
