The Decatur Red Raiders football team (Decatur, AL), was beaten 35-25 in Friday's non-league challenge with the host Austin Black Bears (Decatur, AL)

The Black Bears (1-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Huffman (Birmingham, AL). The Vikings come into the 6A Region 7 challenge with a 1-0 record. In their last challenge, Huffman achieved victory over Parker (Birmingham, AL), 30-13, in a non-league challenge.

The Red Raiders now sport a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Huntsville for a 6A Region 8 challenge on Thursday, September 1. Decatur will meet a Panthers team coming off a 48-10 non-league win over Scottsboro (Scottsboro, AL). The Panthers record now stands at 1-0.
